Wiki212...2009 and Beyond?- TmbrWlvsTchr May 29, 2009 There have been several questions and requests that we keep this wiki (in some capacity) going over the summer and possibly beyond that. I can foresee plenty of benefits as well as some problems that could arise...but I want your input! Here are some things to consider:
In order for us to keep our site's subscription FREE, it has to be for educational use.
1) So then what would the purposes of this wiki be? Would the purposes and rules stay the same? Would they change since you won't be 6th graders anymore?
2) Are there ways we can be proactive and predict or prevent potential problems?
3) How do we address challenges as they come up?
Let's talk it up Peeps and see what's possible!
I think we could keep the rules the same because in 7th grade if we are in the same class or on the same lesson we can ask how to do it or something.
I think that we should keep us on for 1 more year...and we could help out the new sixth graders. When we are moving to 8th grade, we get kicked off Wiki212. I think we should do this because everyone who stays for the second year has more experience. And if anyone new to the wiki has trouble with assignments... the more experienced wiki-users could lend a hand. I also think there should be an option to stay on the wiki. Anyone who does not wish to stay the 2nd year, can quit if they chose to. - gymnast5652 May 30, 2009
I think we should especially because Mrs. Chartier has been gone so long and if she doesn't come back by the end of the year we can still talk to her over the summer. - cukielefty09 May 30, 2009
I think we should always have this Wiki up, but I also think we shouldn't add the new 6th graders next year because this is our wiki that we made and that they should come up with their own ideas on how to make it better. I also think that the Wiki should be a place where we can keep in touch with old friends when we get into 8th grade and high school!!! - HotFudge Jun 1, 2009
I changed my mind. I still like the original idea, but I also like kyle's idea. I think that the 5th graders should make a wiki called Wiki212-2. Kind of like Wiki212 the second.- gymnast5652 Jun 2, 2009
I think we should keep the wiki to stay in touch and I also agree that the new 6th graders would like to have their own, brand-new wiki so we can keep ours. - Chili09 Jun 4, 2009
I think we should keep it for next year so we can meet Mrs. Chartier's and Mrs. Helminski's class and see what they think of them- pg13ldms Jun 10, 2009 p.s I think that making the "new" 6th grader's have to make their own ideas and make their own wiki is being kind of selfish because we already have it up so why make them suffer
In seventh grade we can use the homework section for big house and small house and then the teachers and people can write the homework down (maybe) - SunshineMaria09 Aug 11, 2009
